Colleagues,

The U.S. Department of State cordially invites you to participate in a discussion regarding priorities for the 35th session of the Human Rights Council on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Harry S. Truman Building’s Room 1105.   The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor’s Deputy Assistant Secretary Scott Busby and the International Organizations Affairs Bureau’s Deputy Assistant Secretary Erin Barclay will host the discussion.


Please RSVP to StaffGS@state.gov and MyersHokeD@state.gov no later than COB Tuesday, May 23, with the following information: (i) your name, phone number and email address, (ii) institutional affiliation, (iii) the name, phone number and email address of the representative participating, and (iv) whether you will participate in person or by telephone.   Based on your acceptance of this invitation, the State Department will provide additional information to facilitate your entry into the State Department and/or provide call-in information.

We invite you to circulate this invitation to other individuals and groups who may be interested in participating in this event.  If RSVPs exceed capacity, we may ask organizations who have responded to limit attendance to one representative.  This consultation is off the record and closed to the press.
