 CALL OF THE MAPUCHE MOVEMENT
TO THE
INDIGENOUS ORGANIZATIONS OF ABYA YALA
TO JOIN IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE CONTINENTAL MARCH FOR
INDIGENOUS SELF DETERMINATION

Indigenous Mapuche communities of Ercilla, Chile, called for a solidarity demonstration Wednesday, April 3, in Temuco. A march for Peace-Demilitarization and Mapuche Self-Determination is due to be held in Santiago the same day.

The community action intends to reaffirm “the rights that legitimately assist us, on this day we will announce the issues that we could not expose on March 20 to our Mapuche nation and to the national and international public opinion,” Mapuchefolkets Kamp said on social media.

“Therefore, we will make use of our right to freedom -- determination enshrined in the United Nations declaration in 2007 and we call on the Chilean people to attend and accompany us in this concentration.”

The call to action was announced four days after the last demonstration, March 20, demanding an end to the militarization of Mapuche territory and in commemoration of Camilo Catrillanca, young Mapuche murdered by the Chilean police, known as the Carabineros, while he was driving a tractor, on Nov. 14, 2018.

CALL OF THE MAPUCHE MOVEMENTTO THE INDIGENOUS ORGANIZATIONS OF ABYA YALATO JOIN IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE CONTINENTAL MARCH FOR INDIGENOUS SELF DETERMINATION

1.  The organizations and communities of the Mapuche Nation, committed to the promotion and protection of our collective rights, grouped in the Mapuche community of Temucuicui upon the execution of Camilo Catrillanca by Agents of the State of Chile, we here now make a fervent call to all organizations of the Indigenous Peoples of our continent Abya Yala and the world to actively participate with various initiatives in indigenous continental solidarity with the Mapuche March for Self Determination to be held in the city of Temuco, Wallmapuche [Chile] on March 20, 2019.

2.  We emphasize that the Doctrine of Discovery of Christendom with all its new forms of manifestation implemented by the national governments of the successor states remains fully in force today and that these nefarious policies are illegally materialized through domestication, colonialism, and the militarization of the territories of the Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples of Abya Yala.

3.  We as Indigenous Peoples holding the inherent right to self-determination as PeoplesEqual to all other peoples…” proclaim our self-determination constitutes one of the fundamental rights in relation to our present geopolitical context, and its proper implementation shall determine the future of each of our Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples according to our particular and complementary strategic processes working in the spirit of continental indigenous solidarity.

4.  We call for the formation of a Continental Movement of Abya Yala for the Self Determination of the Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples, developing a collective strategy of cooperation, accompaniment and political accords in realization of our own geopolitical agenda, via international indigenous diplomacy within a multilateral framework.

5.  We affirm that the Mapuche March of Self Determination constitutes a historic step to manifest a Continental Uprising of the Indigenous Peoples, considering that we as Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples can contribute decisively to a geopolitical process here in the continent Abya Yala [Americas] and the world to transform our present situation of persisting political oppression, domestication and the normalization of colonialism.

6.  The Mapuche March of Self Determination will be carried out to establish a defense of our territorial integrity as Original Nations of Mother Earth, given that national and transnational companies threaten the life and culture of all our Indigenous Peoples.

Greetings again from Abya Yala North, O’otham Jevedga [Phoenix, Arizona]. We send you this brief note to let you know that in keeping with the commitments and principles of the Continental Commission Abya Yala and in accordance with the Mapuche Nation regarding the need to fulfill the Dismantling of the Doctrine of the Discovery of Christendom in our continent, we inform that:
• On March 20, the Mapuche Nation will carry out a mobilization in the form of a March in Wallmapuche [Temuko, Chile] in exercise of the inherent human right of Self-Determination as an Original Nation of Abya Yala and in demand for PEACE and NO MILITARIZATION - NO COLONIZATION - NO DOMESTICATION and FREEDOM for all MAPUCHE POLITICAL PRISONERS.

• In conversation with our Mapuche relatives integrated with the Continental Commission Abya Yala, it is proposed to extend the convocation of the Mapuche March of Temuko on March 20, 2020, as a historic continental projection in the present geopolitical sense of the Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples of Abya Yala.
• With the understanding that it is impossible to implement a self-empowerment agenda of  collective Self-Determination as Original Nations of Indigenous Peoples in the territorial sense while we are dominated by calendrical schemes of other colonizing cultures, and in preparation for the Izcalli Abya Yala 2020, we ask for your consideration and advice to advance together in coordination with the Continental Commission Abya Yala and integrate with this monumental effort of great strategic importance.

• We consider that each Original Nation, each community and confederation, each organization and council of the Indigenous Peoples deserves the opportunity to be part of this great indigenous geopolitical uprising and Spiritual Emergence according to the vision and tradition of each, in complementarity with each other in a common struggle, coordinated and synchronized at the regional and continental levels of kinship, confederation, and traditional alliance.
We consider that according to the conditions, capacities and priorities, our actions of March 20, 2019 will simultaneously uplift the demands of the Mapuche March of Temuko as fundamental to the continental collective of struggle, solidarity and commitment.
